Changes to the Vehicle Identity Check (VIC) scheme - October 2015

The existing Vehicle Identity Check (VIC) scheme is to be scrapped with effect from 26th October 2015. For owners looking to insure newly-categorised 'Category C' damaged and repaired vehicles, this means that you will no longer require the vehicle to be examined before you can apply for a new V5 registration document. Insuring a category C car will still be a simple process.
